Map makerSizeMap IDCondition
James Wyld 805 x 550 mmD1 / M196 / I99Good condition. A very nice example on heavy paper with quality outline colour.

Wyld's large size map of Australia was one of the first in a series that would show the progress of exploration on the continent. The earliest edition of this map is believed printed in 1833 that does not show the borders South Australia. Unlike this edition it mentions the King.

In 1838 Queen Victoria came to the throne and this can be said to be one of the earliest maps to give dedication to her. Her rein would continue until 1901.

Later editions of this map were often printed on poorer quality paper and would gradually become more cluttered with information. A small world map was also added in later editions in the bottom left corner of the map.
