Black and Hughes map of South Eastern Australia shows the extent of exploration and settlement in the region. 'Lake' Torrens in South Australia is shown as if full of water though the note on it says that "the greater part apparently dry on the surface".

New South Wales is shown to have 20 counties and Victoria is not yet marked on the map. Norfolk Island is shown as an inset map in the bottom left corner. The settlements on the island and a reasonable amount of detail of the islands place names are given. A common map but an interesting piece in showing the extent of the colony.
